Doncaster Rovers will have the opportunity to extend their narrow lead at the top of League Two tonight, when Portsmouth visit the Keepmoat Stadium.
The Yorkshire side became the newest League Two leaders on Monday, after a late Fraser Franks own goal saw off Stevenage, while former leaders Plymouth Argyle slipping up at Barnet, allowing Rovers to take full advantage.
Darren Ferguson’s men have enjoyed a good run, with seven wins and just one defeat in their last 10 games, and victory over Portsmouth would give them a four-point cushion over second-placed Argyle.
Opponents Portsmouth are on a good run themselves, having also just suffered one defeat in their last 10 outings, and a win tonight would narrow the gap between themselves and Carlisle in the final automatic promotion place to just one point.
The two sides have already met each other once this season, and Rovers will be hoping for a repeat of October’s game, when they triumphed 2-1 at Fratton Park, thanks to goals from John Marquis and Andy Williams.
Doncaster Rovers: Marosi, Blair, Baudry, Butler, Mason, Rowe, Houghton, Middleton, Coppinger, Marquis, Grant.
Portsmouth: Forde, Stevens, Clarke, Burgess, Evans, Doyle, Rose, Naismith, Bennett, Smith, Baker.
Kick-off: 7.45 pm
